Participants must be 15 years old by the last day of the class.
$145 per participant (Cost includes manual)
$110 per participant when 3 or more register together!
Participants must pass a prerequisite swim test prior to registering for the course:
- Swim 300 yards continuously using front crawl or breast stroke, demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Goggles may be used for this swim.
- Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs. Candidates should place their hands under the armpits.
- Retrieve a 10 lb brick from a depth of at least 7 ft and swim 20 yards back to the wall and exit the pool within a time limit of 1 minute and 40 seconds.
- Participants must bring a partner to practice skills on throughout the class.
(Partners may also register to participate, if desired)
- Social distancing will be required throughout the entire course.
- Masks must be worn at all times while not in the water.
After passing a written and skills test, participants will earn an American Red Cross certificate in Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED. These certificates are good for 2 years.
Lake Jackson Lifeguards must be at least 16 years of age
the starting pay is $10.70/hr
