IMPENDING ROAD CLOSING PHASE 5 LOTUS COURT CUL DE SAC 9/16

NOTICE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC OF IMPENDING ROAD CLOSING

PHASE 5 LOTUS COURT CUL DE SAC

Work on the underground piping and services along Lotus Street and Lotus Court has been substantially completed and the contractor is now ready to move into the pavement reconstruction portion of the work which has been scheduled to begin on Monday, September 16, 2019.

Step 1 of the Lotus Court pavement work will be to remove and replace the cul-de-sac in the rear of the court.

The work has started with the installation of temporary parking along the west side of Lotus Court to allow those houses on the cul-de-sac some temporary parking.  The utility replacement crew will work Saturday to finish installation of the new watermain in the Court.

The water service meter reconnection in the cul-de-sac will run concurrently with the removal of the old pavement.  After the pavement is removed in that area, the contractor will then prepare the subgrade and finish by pumping the concrete back into place. Due to the limited parking spaces relative to cars per household, please make every effort to find alternative parking places to allow for a fair distribution to your immediate neighbors. Please relocate any recreation or work equipment to alternate storage parking areas to have access to these as you use them.

We provided detailed information of the construction at the public town meeting held in October 2018 and will provide the affected property owners or public in general with any information as needed through all our available communication media and by direct phone call to the engineering department at (979) 415-2413.

Expect, the periodic traffic disruptions and restricted access through the work zone.  Please observe the construction zone regulations of the directional and speed limit signs being erected and being enforced by our police department.

Please be considerate of your neighbor’s safety as well as your own as you share the street into and out of Lotus Court. Please make every effort to make plans for the use of alternate routes to your destinations.  We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconveniences these needed improvement changes may create for you.

Sincerely,

Sal Aguirre, P.E.

City Engineer
