NOTICE ABOUT 2022 PROPERTY TAX RATES
This notice concerns the 2022 property tax rates for CITY OF LAKE JACKSON. This notice provides information about two tax rates used in adopting the current tax year's tax rate. The no-new-revenue tax rate would Impose the same amount of taxes as last year if you compare properties taxed in both years. In most cases, the voter-approval tax rate is the highest tax rate a taxing unit can adopt without holding an election. In each case, these rates are calculated by dividing the total amount of taxes by the current taxable value with adjustments as required by state law. The rates are given per $100 of property value
This year's no-new-revenue tax rate $0.310459/$100
This year's voter-approval tax rate $0.326457/$100

DROUGHT CONTINGENCY STAGE ONE IN PLACE NOW
The City of Lake Jackson entered today into Stage 1 of its drought contingency program as an effort to conserve water and to control water use among businesses and residents.
The decision to enter Stage 1 was prompted after the U.S. Drought Monitor declared that Brazoria County was experiencing an extreme drought, known as a D3 level. The only drought level higher than D3-extreme is D4-exceptional. The City has also been working with the Brazosport Water Authority to address municipal water conditions. The BWA has also begun drought contingency efforts.
The City’s drought contingency plan has three stages to address the use of water among the city itself, businesses, and residents. Stage 1 addresses mild water shortages. Stage 2 address moderate shortages and Stage 3 addresses severe water shortages.
City crews will monitor municipal water use daily. If water use increases, the City will raise the drought level. Learn more about how Stage 1 affects you

Once in the city system, FOG can contaminate local waters and even drinking water when manholes covers overflow into parks, yards, streets, and storm drains during heavy rains or hurricanes.
Communities spend billions of dollars every year unplugging or replacing grease-blocked pipes, repairing pump stations, and cleaning up costly and illegal wastewater spills. Excessive FOG in the sewer system can affect local wastewater rates.
So, keeping FOG out of the sewer system helps everyone. That's why we want you to BE FOGGLESS!
