Street removal and replacement: 400 Block of Banyan

NOTICE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC OF IMPENDING STREET CLOSURE FOR STREET PANEL REPAIRS ON BANYAN STREET AT YAUPON (NORTH INTERSECTION 400 BLOCK OF BANYAN)

 STARTING TUESDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2021

ATTENTION: Residents, Police, Fire, EMS, School District, City Employees and others.

The contractor (HTI Construction) is scheduled to begin street removal and replacement at the North intersection of Banyan and Yaupon in the 400 block of Banyan Street. The work consists of removing the old pavement and excavating the failing drainage pipes crossing Banyan Street followed by installation of new subgrade and concrete. Both lanes of Banyan Street will be barricaded and closed for repairs. The work should take approximately two weeks depending on weather conditions.

At the end of the two-week period, the contractor expects to open one lane for traffic while working on the second half of pavement along with curbs and driveways. There may be intermittent traffic disruptions beyond the two-week period as the second half of the street is replaced.

Please be considerate of your neighbor’s safety as well as your own as you share the streets through and around the area. Please make every effort to make plans for use of alternate routes to your destinations. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconveniences these needed improvement changes may create for you.

Sincerely,

Sal Aguirre, P.E.
