Water Rates
*Senior citizens who apply and meet the qualifications receive a 40 percent discount on their water and sewer rates.
These rates are levied monthly:
- First 2,000 gallons, base rate: $15.50
- Over 2,000 gallons through 20,000 gallons, per, 1000 gallons $5.60
- All gallons over 20,000 gallons, per 1,000 $6.35
In addition to the usage charges, residents also receive a $0.03 charge each month to fund the Brazoria County Water Conservation District. This is a pass-thru fee that residents who use more than 2,000 gallons per month receive.
Sewer Charges
These rates are levied monthly
- Base rate of 2,000 gallons $16.75
- All gallons over 2,000 gallons, per 1,000 $6.05
*No residential service will be charged for over 15,000 gallons per use per month.
Service Deposits
- Residential $100
- Senior Residential $35 (must be 65 years of age or older)
*Service deposits may be determined by the City Manager, or a designated person, based upon the estimated usage of a resident.
*Service deposits for residents may be waived if an immediate family member, who is a current City utility customer and has had 2 years of continuous service, signs a letter of guaranty. To qualify to sign a letter of guaranty, the co-signer can have had no delinquent bills or insufficient checks six months prior to signing the guaranty letter nor ever been disconnected for nonpayment of the City utility bill. If the guarantee or co-signer leaves the City or discontinues City utility service prior to completion of a three-year period from the date of service connection for whom they cosigned, the customer may be required to pay the standard service deposit for the remainder of the three-year period.
