FOR INFORMATION ON PROPOSITION C

PROPERTY TAX RATE IMPACT

*The information is this section is provided as information only and is not part of the proposition to be voted on and does not create a contract with the voters.

The tax rate impact the issuance of these bonds will have on a residential homestead is estimated by making certain assumptions.

Those assumptions are:

  • The bond will be issued in a single issuance.
  • The average interest rate on the bond will be 4%
  • A maximum maturity of 20 - 25 years

ESTIMATED TAX INCREASE

Currently the City of Lake Jackson tax rate is $.325929 per $100 of valuation. If the voters approve the bond propositions, property taxes on an average Lake Jackson home could increase $43 per year.
