In order to maintain progress on the street reconstruction project and in step with the schedules, the contractor will begin preparatory work in the Magnolia Street segment well ahead of the actual pavement reconstruction process.
This early move in is being done to advance the work along and layout the ground work for a smoother traffic flow in the upcoming main reconstruction work of the street.
The work consists of removing the existing drainage structure crossing between 904 and 906 Magnolia and replacing it with a new culvert structure with paved end treatment. This replacement process will require the street to be closed in the immediate area of the work site location.
The work will be taking place as early Thursday, March 13, 2014 and proceed through a period of six weeks or earlier if possible.
This spot street closure will interrupt through traffic flow along the Azalea to Gardenia segment that will now be detoured at those locations. Local resident access in the affected street segment will be limited to a single ingress and exit point at Azalea or Gardenia but will retain full use of the existing roadway.
Directional traffic devices and signage will be erected prior to the closure to guide the travelling public in the safest and least inconvenient manner through the affected neighborhood.
You should not expect the main reconstruction work to follow any time sooner than originally scheduled, but we will keep you notified when this operation approaches and updates in schedule if any. We apologize for the inconveniences that these much needed improvement changes create for you.
