Work on the underground piping and services in the Gardenia and Magnolia Street segments have been substantially completed and it now moves into the pavement reconstruction portion of the work which has been scheduled to begin on Monday, August 18, 2014.
Step 2 of the pavement removal is to be done on the odd numbered side of Magnolia Street from Gardenia to 813 Magnolia. The work activity will begin on Monday with traffic control barricade and signage being reset along the work zone to redirect single lane traffic flow in the proper direction along the new half pavement of this segment.
In preparatory work for this temporary parking stalls have been installed for those displaced by the work side closure. Open side residents will have normal use of their driveways for parking. Following this, the removal of the old pavement will be accompanied with installation of temporary pedestrian access crossings at designated locations.
We provided detailed information of the construction at the public town meeting held in December and will provide the affected property owners or public in general with any information as needed through all our available communication media and direct phone call to the Engineering Department at (979) 415-2414.
Expect the periodic traffic disruptions and restricted access through the work zone. Please observe construction zone regulations of the directional and speed limit signs being erected and being enforced by our police department. Please make every effort to make plans to use the alternate routes to your destinations. Please exercise all caution and we appreciate your patience during this construction period.
