[ARCHIVED] Update on Courts & Camellia St. Roadwork

Camellia Project map.jpg

Hybiscus Court, Lantana Court and Bluebonnet Court have been substantially completed and the pavement work shifted into Elm Court that has had the sewer and water services already replaced. During the current pavement curing period of this side, the work has moved over to the Camellia area to keep the work crews activity moving ahead. The brunt of the work effort is planned for Camellia Court, but due to the heavier utility work and longer preparations needed for this, the pavement crews will need to jump into a portion of Camellia Street during this waiting time.

This move will begin Tuesday, October 12, 2015 on the Camellia Street segment between Yaupon and 128 Camellia Street with work on the even number side first. The traffic control signage and barricading will begin shortly with the eastbound traffic along Camellia Street from and out of the neighborhoods being rerouted to Winding Way to exit. Westbound traffic from Yaupon through this segment will remain open as normal. Also at this time, the temporary parking stalls for those displaced will be installed across the street from their cutoff access. Pedestrian crossovers for them will be provided with this displacement.

The few utility line service crossovers will be made along this short segment followed by the pavement removal and reconstruction process. This entire process is anticipated to take a period of 3 weeks. Once completed, the work will change over to the odd number side of the segment and the process redone again for another 3 weeks. This advance segment work once finished, will allow the contractor to fall back to the Camellia Court full construction effort.

The more intensive work along the continuing Camellia Street will rest for awhile and will then resume following an orderly schedule for the remaining of the contract schedule.

Please make plans to relocate any non daily use vehicles to accessible parking areas during your side closure. Expect the periodic traffic disruptions and restricted access through the work zone. Please observe construction zone regulations of the directional and speed limit signs being erected and being enforced by our police department.

We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconveniences these needed improvement changes may create for you.
