As part of the city’s continuing program for the revitalization of downtown, the final construction phase of This Way from SH 332 frontage road to Circle Way (Compass Bank segment) is scheduled to start this coming Monday, November 16, 2015. The project timeline is expected to last about four months.
The project general contractor, Matula & Matula Construction Company has planned to mobilize into the work site in preparation for this. Prior activity had preceded this with the erection of tree protection fencing along the parkway area, and now the remaining preparatory work of installing traffic channelization devices and signage for traffic directional flow and detours will follow.
The first phase of construction will begin on the westbound (north half of the street) and will force traffic to a two-way travel along the remaining south half of the street. Once the full reconstruction of the north half is completed, the two-way flow will be switched and the work will resume to the second phase construction of the south half of the street.
All current parking stalls along this segment will be permanently lost and will require the regular users of these to relocate to the remaining available parking spaces along Circle Way.
Expect the periodic traffic disruptions and restricted access through the work zone. Please observe construction zone regulations of the directional and speed limit signs being erected and being enforced by our police department.
We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconveniences these needed improvement changes may create for you.
