[ARCHIVED] Public Notice of Impending Work at the Freidrich Ditch Outfall

Freidrich Ditch Outfall.jpg

The Velasco Drainage District (VDD) is planning to cure-in-place two 60” x 102’ outfall pipes at the end of the Freidrich Ditch near the northeast corner of the Willow Drive Baptist Church Tract located at 200 Willow Drive.

The rehabilitation of this outfall structure is one of many that VDD has done since 2008 to insure the longevity of these outfall structures that are 40 to 50 years old. This project is a continuation of this rehab program which will extend the life of this structure another 50 years or more. The cure-in-place pipe is designed to be a standalone pipe so even if the existing corrugate metal pipe would completely rust away the cure-in-place pipe would be there functioning in its place.

The contract process is on current schedule and work anticipated to begin on or about the last week of March. Access to the worksite will be done through the Willow Drive Baptist Church and Brazosport Christian School properties but the typical noise from operating heavy equipment should be anticipated by the nearby residences.

We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience these needed improvements may create for you.
