[ARCHIVED] Storm Related Building Permits

The City of Lake Jackson would like all residents who have suffered storm related losses to structures to contact the Public Works desk at 415-2430. The city will expedite assessment inspections, permits and waive permit fees for all storm related repairs.

The city will require a post flood/storm safety inspection for all structures that received flood waters inside, or sustained damages due to wind. The intent is to identify structural damages, foundation movement, and compromised Electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Trees on houses or power lines should be removed prior to inspection. Removal of sheetrock and flood damaged materials will not inhibit and in some cases will assist in assessing damages.

No permits will be issued until an assessment inspection has taken place.

Permits and inspections protect life and property values. As we assist our community recover, we encourage all owners to consult with inspections staff prior to signing contracts with a contractor or restoration company. All solicitors including contractors engaged in door to door marketing must be licensed through the Lake Jackson Police Department. If someone comes knocking on your door, feel free to ask to see their solicitation license or contact Lake Jackson Police Department for verification.
