[ARCHIVED] Fire Hydrant Flushing

The utilities department will begin our city-wide flushing on November 10th. We execute this flushing at the same time as an important water treatment process. This flushing is beneficial to overall water quality, to help reduce scaling in the pipes and determine if there are any hydrants that have become a safety issue. The schedule of areas to be are as follows:

November 10th and 11th 10:00pm- 4:00am:
Woodland Park 1, Woodland Park 2, South Park Way/Brazos Oaks, Azalea Area, Flag Ridge Estates, Jackson Plantation, Plantation Village, Abner Jackson Area, Downtown, Balsam Area and Camelia Area.

November 17th and 18th 10:00pm-4:00am:
Magnolia Park/Forest Bend, Sleepy Hollow & Oyster Bend, Pecan Grove, Timber Creek 1, Timber Creek 2, Northwood/Deerwood/Linden Lane Area, Plantation Oak, Shy Wood, Pecan Lake Estates and Oak Forest.

As a result of the flushing procedure, residents may experience temporary discoloration of their water. This discoloration consists of harmless silt and precipitates and does not affect the safety of the water. If you have any questions please call (979)415-2434.
