NOTICE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC OF IMPENDING ROAD WORK STARTUP
PAVING, DRAINAGE & UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS ON SOUTH YAUPON ST (WALNUT TO OLEANDER), OLEANDER ST (HICKORY TO MAPLE), HICKORY ST (MIMOSA TO OLEANDER), LOTUS ST (HICKORY TO PAST SOUTH YAUPON), LOTUS COURT & BOIS D’ ARC STREET
After a lengthy delay due to last years holiday period and intermittent wet season, the work is scheduled to officially start the week of January 28, 2019. The contractor (Matula & Matula Construction) will move-in and start with traffic control barricade and signage being dropped along the work zone to be worked on first. This will be along Hickory Street.
The traffic control on the remaining street projects will take place at a later date when the actual move-in work schedule approaches. Some saw cutting activity of pavement and driveways may proceed shortly after ahead of the work to follow.
Installation of new water and sewer lines and house services will follow and be continued with temporary parking stall placement in preparation for pavement removal of the streets. The traffic devices and signage will be erected at that time as well as temporary pedestrian access crossings at designated locations once pavement is removed.
The plan calls for a Two-Phase half pavement removal and replacement process typical of most street reconstruction project to allow continued travel and access to your residence, although with some inconvenience and parking restrictions to temporary parking stalls provided.
We provided detailed information of the construction work at the public town meeting held on October 16, 2018 and will provide the affected property owners or public in general with any information as needed through all our available communication media or by direct phone call to the engineering department at (979) 415-2413.
Expect the periodic traffic disruptions and restricted access through the work zone. Please observe construction zone regulations of the directional and speed limit signs being erected and being enforced by our police department. Please make every effort to make plans to use the alternate routes to your destinations and exercise caution when travelling thru the detours in your neighborhood.
Please relocate any parked vehicles or equipment not in daily use to alternate parking areas out of the work zone if planning to use during the work period in your area, as well as planning for alternate daily parking spots in the adjacent vicinity as possible, due to limited temporary parking stall space provided. We apologize for any inconvenience these needed improvement changes may impose on you.
