Work on the underground piping and services in the first block of Hickory St from Mimosa to Walnut street segment have been substantially completed and it now moves into the pavement reconstruction portion of the work which has been scheduled to begin on Monday February 25, 2019.
Step 1 of the pavement removal is to be done on the even number side of Hickory Street from 102 to 124.
The work activity will begin on with traffic control barricade and signage being reset along the work zone to redirect single lane traffic flow in the proper direction from west to east along remaining half pavement of these segments.
Preparatory work will run concurrently with this with the installation of temporary parking stalls for those displaced by the work side closure. Open side residents will have normal use of their driveways for parking. Due to the limited parking spaces relative to cars per household please make every effort in your part to find alternative parking places to allow for a fair distribution to your immediate neighbors. Please relocate any recreation or work equipment to alternate storage parking areas to have access to these as you use them. Following this, the removal of the old pavement will be accompanied with installation of temporary pedestrian access crossings at designated locations.
We provided detailed information of the construction at the public town meeting held in October 2018, and will provide the affected property owners or public in general with any information as needed through all our available communication media and by direct phone call to the engineering department at (979) 415-2413.
Expect, the periodic traffic disruptions and restricted access through the work zone. Please observe construction zone regulations of the directional and speed limit signs being erected and being enforced by our police department. Please make every effort to make plans to use of the alternate routes to your destinations. Please exercise all caution when going when making detours through neighborhoods.

We are sorry for all the inconveniences that these much-needed improvements changes create for you.
