Today at approximately 2:20 p.m., a contractor working for the City of Lake Jackson struck a line crossing Sycamore Street near Balsam, pulling three power poles down. Approximately 800 homes have lost power according to Center Point Energy’s Outage Tracker map. Center Point estimates that power will be restored by 9 p.m.
