Free Chlorine Conversion & Citywide Flushing
The City of Lake Jackson has received approval from TCEQ to perform a free chlorine conversion on our water system. This conversion will begin on June 8th, and end on June 21st, 2021. This conversion is necessary to improve our treatment process throughout the rest of the year. There will be taste and odor changes throughout this two-week process. We will also begin our city-wide flushing process in tandem with the free chlorine conversion. We will flush everything north of Oyster Creek Drive on June 11th and 12th. We will begin flushing around 10 PM and flush through the night until 4 AM. The following weekend, June 18th, and 19th, we will flush everything south of Oyster Creek Drive. This will also happen from 10 PM to 4 AM. We are flushing to boost the effectiveness of the free chlorine conversion and to test the proper operation of city-owned hydrants.
