A weird thing happens right after the holidays. All those bags full of presents become bags full of trash. Before Santa left Lake Jackson for the North Pole, he offered us a few tips to help us keep those holiday vibes rolling into our streets as our garbage starts to pile up.
- Use at least a lightweight construction bag. We sell lightweight construction bags at City Hall. They are $9 a roll. You get 50 bags in each roll.
- Seriously consider buying your bags from us. We notice that most animals are digging through lightweight bags that you buy at the grocery store. Note: If you can easily rip the bag open, so can a bird or animal.
- If you have extremely smelly trash, spray ammonia into it before you TIE IT CLOSED. Animals don’t like ammonia any more than we do.
- Follow our guidelines. Put your trash out that morning. Do not leave it overnight.
- Don’t put it out on the wrong day, especially after a major holiday. We know people on your street do, but we really want you to think about not doing it. Don't follow the crowd.
