Communications & Public Information Office

The Communications and Public Information Office produces the City of Lake Jackson stories, news and communication. The office distributes and gathers information to keep residents informed about city policies, programs, neighborhood services and events. 

The Office produces the content for the following resident services:

News Releases - news releases announcing City events and pertinent issues are created, developed and distributed to local and Houston media.

LJTV -  Originally-produced in-house programming is streamed online and broadcasted on the government cable station, Comcast channel 16 and AT&T U-verse channel 99. This channel also broadcasts a rotating informational bulletin board.

City of Lake Jackson Website - The City's official website provides information, applications, forms, and interactive features to benefit residents. The PIO maintains and manages the flow of information and citywide updates.

Social Media - All content for the City's official Facebook, Youtube and Twitter pages is produced in-house via the PIO. .

Other services include print pieces such as brochures, magazines (both traditional and interactive), mailers and other printed materials.

Crisis Communication - During crisis events and incidents, the Public Information Office serves the Emergency Operation Center as the official city information outlet.

OPEN RECORDS REQUESTS: 
Send Open Records Requests to the City Secretary at avillarreal@lakejacksontx.gov. The Communications Office does not handle these matters. The city secretary is designated by the city’s Home Rule Charter as an agent of the Officer of Public Records (city manager) and serves as the city’s authority for releasing records in accordance with the procedures set for in the Public Information Act.
